                 The All India Oriental conference, which has for the last nine decades served as the National forum of scholars interested in Orientology, will hold its 45th session at tirupati under the auspices of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati 517 064 (a university accredited at A+ level by NAAC and recognized as centre of excellence for Sanskrit studies by the UGC) on 2nd , 3rd & 4th June 2010.  I am glad to inform that 2010 is the Golden Jubilee year of the Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati.

The General President of the conference is Padmabhushan Professor Dr. Satyavrat Shastri, Recipient of Jnanapitha Award & President of India certificate of Honour, residential Address - C-248, Defence Colony, New Delhi - 110 024.  Prof. Dr. Mahavir Agrawal, Gurukul Kangari Vishvavidyalaya, Haridwar - 249 404 has been elected Vice-President.

The success of a session of the All India Oriental conference depends entirely upon the active participation of Universities, learned societies and scholars interested in the various subjects coming under the purview of the Conference.  Universities and Learned societies are, there, requested to depute delegates to the session.  All persons interested in Oriental learning and research are requested to enroll themselves as members of the confrerence by filling in the accompanying membership form.  The subscription for the session is Rs. 200/- and life membership fees is Rs. 1.000/-.

 

The membership form, duly filled in and accompanied by the necessary amount of subscription, is to be sent to the General Secretary, AIOC, Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune - 411 004.  The Amount of fees should be sent by Demand Draft only.  Cheques will not be accepted.  Life members are also requested to fill in the accompanying form and forward it to the General Secretary, AIOC, Bhandarkar Oriental Resarch Institute, 812, Shivajinagar, Pune - 411 004.  The last date of registration of membership is 31st March, 2010.  The fees for lodging and boarding will be decided by the Local Secretary.

 

Scholars are requested to submit their research papers - typed, in duplicate [one copy to the Local Secretary and one to the Sectional President], for any of the Sections of the Session.  The papers should be of the nature of ORIGINAL CONTRIBUTION to the subject.  they should not exceed ten double-spaced typed pages and should be each accompanied by a summary not exceeding three hundred words.  The papers, along with their summaries should be sent to the Local Secretary not later than 15th April, 2010.
